Cheyenne is a truly sustainable, modern design. The east-west orientation and south-facing single-pitch roof allow for a 5KwH solar array to power the house. Efficient at 2000 SF, glass is maximized on the southern-facade, but protected by a 4-foot overhang, which causes the house to be filled with natural light. High ceilings and an open plan highlight the simple beauty of polished concrete, clear-coated oak, exposed steel and glass.

Trees removed for the construction of the house were milled and re-purposed as exposed beams throughout. The cabinetry was designed based on the family's unique flow, and artfully crafted by local woodworker, Cabinet Creations.

By extending the roofline at the northeast corner of the house, we made space for a loft. This bonus space serves as a home office, but the murphy bed allows it to double as a guest room with access to a rooftop garden.
